UN Office for Colonial Development — UN body overseeing settlement infrastructure and research facility construction across the settled sphere. Successor to UNOLA (dissolved 2101 under the UN Charter of 2101). Announced the completion of Luna Research Dome 5 at Von Kármán crater in 2129. In 2133, published the Citizen’s Guide to Governance Across the Settled Sphere — the definitive plain-language reference for how the UN governs, covering the Charter, Council, courts, currency, research infrastructure, CAI rules, security forces, and local governance. The charter settlements it granted in the 2150s underpinned the Martian Great Settlement: the four new settlements established between 2156 and 2162 (Utopia Basin Station, New Plymouth, Eos Station, Sirenum Reach), with migration societies — including religious communities — holding most charters, per the 2165 Colonial Census. Its Sustainable Off-World Habitation Grant sustained the Cradle at Dome 2 for sixty-eight years (2087–2155); the Ark Project’s 2175 soil notice records the acknowledgment as the protocol was applied at Pallas.
