Nathaniel inherited Argus Ballistics, took it public in the 2080s, and restructured it into Argus Extraction Defense — a vertically integrated weapons manufacturer extracting and processing its own raw materials. He built capital networks across European, American, Chinese, and Russian sources, cultivated during doctoral engineering work at Luna University and time at Kosmograd. AED launched in 2099 with sixty-eight people: R&D, assembly, and him.
His signature weapon is the ARGUS-7 — a bullpup platform firing self-propelled gyro-jet guided micro-darts that sync to an operator’s HUD or neural link and curve to tagged targets behind cover, with switchable payloads (HE, EMP, nanite armor-eater). The NEXUS Modular Frame — an electromagnetic rail-assisted kinetic platform pushing tungsten penetrators past Mach 7 — never left blueprint stage due to unsolved coil wear and heat dissipation.
He married Dr. Gisa Argus, a German neurosurgeon and Luna University graduate who published a theoretical framework for embodying general cognitive systems in organic brains (“androids”), successfully relocating a drosophila brain into synthetic housing. The couple had twins and moved to Michigan in the late 2080s. Their son died in a car accident in 2096; Gisa died by suicide in 2097. Their daughter’s whereabouts are not in any public record.
