Pobeda Station — Mars’s oldest continuously inhabited settlement and de facto administrative capital. Founded 2066 at Korolev Crater, Vastitas Borealis, chosen for the permanent water-ice deposit confirmed by orbital radar beneath the crater. The first crewed Kuzmin Drive landing on Mars (departed 2065, arrived 2066). Its defining architectural feature is the Silo: a spiraling excavated shaft descending 340 metres, with hydroponics near the surface, machine shops and reactor bays in the middle strata, and residential rings at the bottom. Under the 2078 governance split, UNOLA holds civil authority while Moscow retains the Deimos shipyard, reactor programme, and Pathfinder Fleet. Home to Pobeda University and Martian Radio. Population: ~1,000 by 2075, ~3,800 by 2099, ~38,000 by 2130.
