Its foundational achievement was threading a regulatory needle that had stood for four decades: the UN Charter on Embodied Cognitive Systems (December 2052) prohibited general cognitive intelligence in embodied platforms under Article 4.1, while Article 4.2 left the door open for specialized-function reasoning. Human-parity mechanical prosthetic movement had been solved since the early 2050s — the same era as Qiyuan Robotics’ YUANSHI-1 — but legally selling a limb that moved like a person without reasoning like one required a neuromotor bridge narrow enough to clear Article 4.1 review.
Helios secured that specialized-function license in 2093, providing the architecture Anthros would later scale. The company’s name is unrelated to any shorthand for the neural core architecture developed by Cognitive Genesis Research in 2045.
