Prof. Rachel Beit-Hallahmi is Professor of Political Sociology at New York University and the author of The Theology of Partition (2029) and After the Covenant: American Jewish Identity in the Age of Occupation (2031). She serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Palestine Studies and is a founding member of Scholars for Palestinian Rights. She reviewed Meredith Calloway’s The Great Uncoupling for Foreign Affairs (Vol. 113, No. 4, July/August 2034), providing both an analytical engagement with the book’s argument and a personal account of her own transformation from an AIPAC-aligned upbringing to public anti-Zionism — which she characterises as a data point within Calloway’s generational thesis.
