Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei is the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, having succeeded his father Ali Khamenei at some point prior to 2032. He is first documented in this capacity on 17 December 2032, when he arrived at the site of the Israeli airstrike on the Shahid Motahhari school in Minab within hours of the attack, walked through the rubble, sat with grieving families on the ground outside the school, and delivered a national address from the street without notes. His address — naming individual victims, declining to announce immediate military operations while stating Iran would defend itself — was widely circulated and viewed by an estimated 600 million people across global platforms. The IRGC launched Operation Truthful Promise III in response to the same attack.
