Nadia Petrescu (b. ~2152) is a fabrication worker and receiving-bay technician at Meridian Forge, Mars. After her eleven-year-old daughter Iulia died in March 2189 of a progressive chromatin-compaction disorder, Petrescu built a child-sized general-cognition platform trained on 214 hours of domestic recordings, three journals, and Iulia’s diary; she had been refused a neural core for personal use because no licensed function had been declared, and the core she used came from a Meridian Forge deep-bore control shipment. In April 2190 the Office of Cognitive Assessment ordered the platform destroyed as an Article 2.2 replication; Petrescu petitioned the Luna Interplanetary Court for review and stay (LIC-2190-0311), and on 20 May 2190 the Authority’s Court of First Instance at Pobeda assumed jurisdiction over the platform’s status and ordered it returned to her pending determination.
